The Origin

Pão de queijo originates from 18th-century Brazil, where slaves processed cassava root into flour and baked bread from it. In the late 1800s, milk and cheese were added — and the iconic Brazilian cheese bread as we know it today was born.

How to Prepare

Oven: Preheat to 180–190°C. Bake for 20–30 minutes until golden. Fan-assisted mode recommended.

Air fryer: Preheat to 160°C and bake for 10–15 minutes.

Good to Know

  • Keep frozen — no thawing needed before baking
  • Do not refreeze after thawing
  • Best enjoyed while still warm
  • Shelf life: 3 months from production date
